Profile & data

What happens to my data?

Your data is stored in the Give a Day database. This data is only used by the Give a Day CV to further develop our platform, to perform our services, to expand or improve for the user. No data is passed on to third parties for commercial purposes.

Who sees my profile information?

No one has direct access to your (contact) data. Organisations can still see part of your data and contact you in 2 ways.

  • If your profile is public, organisations can find you and view your profile. Here is only information about your desired volunteer activity. They can contact you via the contact form on the website. They do not see contact details until you respond.
  • If you are interested in a volunteer activity via the contact form, the organisation will receive your message, your e-mail address and information about your desired volunteer activity via e-mail in order to be able to contact you.
How do I make my profile private or public?

You decide whether you want your profile public or private. Your profile is automatically public when you register. You can adjust this. Go to dashboard, my profile and continue to security. You can choose whether you want your profile public or private.


What happens if my profile is "public"?

"Public" means that your profile information is available to organisations. They can look you up via your specified wishes for a volunteer activity, view your profile and contact you via our site. They never get to see contact data.

What happens if my profile is "private"?

"Private" means that nobody has access to your profile. Nobody can look up or contact you. If you show interest in a volunteer activity via the contact form, the organisation will receive your message, your e-mail address and information about your desired volunteer activity via e-mail and they can contact you.

Am I required to make my profile public?

No. Your profile is automatically public when you register. You can choose at any time to change this to "private" in your profile.


Can I change my profile, data / or matching preferences?

You can change your profile at any time. You can make adjustments to your personal data, desired volunteer activity and security. Go to my profile dashboard.


Can I delete my profile?

Yes. If you want to permanently delete all data from the Give a Day database, contact Give a Day with the subject "Delete my user data". This way we delete all your data from the database. This is irrevocable.
